Kris was born & raised in the mountains of Colorado in a small town called Nederland. Growing up in the mountains, he picked up snowboarding, played baseball in college and then started a career as a top 5 worldwide charting music producer. During the mix of those passions he began working with plants in 2014 and really developed an understanding for their way of life. Kris worked for an organic fertilizing company for over 5 years, after graduating from Colorado University with a B.A. in Communication, and really developed a special relationship with plants. He took the time to understand their basic needs and found a way to communicate with them that not a lot of people can do. Artz learned the inner workings of organic fertilizers and how to make them work at their highest performance. Kris learned how to identify and rectify signs of malnutrition, their diseases, over and under watering, along with insect infestations and how to prevent harm to the harvest. He almost became an arborist but overall chose his number one plant, marijuana and became a Master Grower at a top cultivation company in Colorado. He started to work on a commercial greenhouse and outdoor farm in southern Colorado for a new cultivation company but deep down he knew this was not where he was meant to be. So with his passion burning inside with plants but not feeling whole about it, Kris, Brett and Sara decided to take his expertise with caring for plants and specializing in cannabis he developed in Colorado and move to Massachusetts to produce luxurious strains for cannabis consumers on the East Coast and Rhythm of Life Cannabis was born.
